| 267654 | 2004-08-31 23:34:00 | My parents computer doesn't seem to work on my network. It's win2kpro sp2 and my computer is winxp sp1. I have the network through a DSE ADSL router. I know my computer works because it has been setup for a LAN by my friends. I have used identical settings on my parents computer but with the IP's selected automatically. Can someone help me? |

| 267655 | 2004-08-31 23:39:00 | Do the ips manually, on both computers. On XP if theyre (the ip) is on automatic, the ip address can change with every reboot. And make sure both workgroups are the same. If the XP PC is the main PC for the net, enable file / printing thru the LAN icon. |

| 267657 | 2004-09-01 00:07:00 | As you are using a router with multiple ports I take it you are not using MS ICS to share the internet connection. As stated either set both boxes to DHCP or set the IP manually (preferred) Cheers Murray P |
