I wouldn't think that it will be 300 pixels as that is quite small for a photo - are you thinking of 300 KB's in size? > or what screen size is this? Standard screen resolutions can be 800x600 or 1024x768. What does the photo upload site say for the preferred resolution or file size? |

2004-09-24 07:43:00 | First post states what size. 600 megapixels wide? its a msn site, quote from site > E) PHOTO SIZE AND FILE SIZE 1- The size of photos ( image size - see screen below) should be limited to 500 pixels for the larger dimension ( width or height as the case may be ). A photo editor can be used to reach the proper size. 2- The filesize for photos must be limited to a maximum of 50k so as to optimize space usage and enable members with slower modems to load those photos in a reasonable amount of time. im still not clear on this info. what i guess i need is someone to say always resize your pics to such an such a size for posting on this site???? get my drift? sorry im still confused and do not want to post anything till i get a correct size pic, other wise likely to get me ear chewed off again? :D beetle

2004-09-24 07:55:00 | Using Irfanview: Image - Resize/resample - Set new size - Pixels Set the width or height to 600 or less. Set whichever is the largest dimension, depends if its landscape or portrait. The other dimension will autoscale. Save As Type of file JPG Show options dialog Set slider to about 25 rename the file to whatever you want Save In Windows Explorer check the file size. If its still too big, use a lower number in the slider setting. Or the other way if too small. Always start with the original photo though and save as a different name.

2004-09-24 08:24:00 | Hi beetle If you use the windows resize you have to set the advanded options each time you want a photo with the longest side of 500 pixles, see here (sal.neoburn.net). The resulting file size will almost always be under the 50k limit and the longest side will be 500 pixles, it will not distort the photo.

2004-09-24 08:33:00 | Just looked at the image I put up, the tick in the box at the bottom is optional, and not recommended if you want to preserve the original. | Rob99 (151) | |
