2004-09-01 11:08:00 | First off - He has to have PC Anywhere also. ...Not sure if that complicates matters, but if it does, you may wanna try: http://tightvnc.com Basically you both have to be online at the same time, and know each others IP Address. It may pay to get your friend across the globe to goto no-ip.com, sign up there, and get the no-ip.com Dynamic Update Client. Then connect to his no-ip address :-) Chill.

2004-09-01 22:25:00 | Hi Gumdigger I suggest you start by reading the manual and the program's Help files, then trying to work your way throught the features on your computer. You can then post back with specific questions about anything you don't understand. Does it have a wizard-based set up system? Somebody on PF1 may know all the answers, but it is a big ask to write a how-to from scratch because we don't know how much you already know. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2004-09-02 08:10:00 | The Program looks straight forward but isnt. wel i know who is host and who is remote. Ive been through the help file, but one thing that struk me is that, when i open pcanywhere, there is option for remote part. there are 4 things. Direct, file transfer, modem, NETWORK, CABLE, DSL. iam not sure which one to choose because i dunt kno if i willget charged.

2004-09-03 03:03:00 | It's asking how you connect. Are you dialing directly into his computer via a modem or through the net or are you directly connected in the same building with a LAN cable or are you connected using ADSL. Depending what option you choose the program will then give you a list of choicies eg. If you choose modem it will ask if you dial his phone number directly or connect to the internet etc | Odin (227) | |

2007-03-21 22:02:00 | you have to install it on your friend's pc if you want to connect to him so you don't have to ask for his ip address every time you want to connect to him ..and wow..you dug up your own post from 3yrs ago...

2007-03-21 22:19:00 | Hamachi and a variant of VNC works as well. Add file sharing support and/or remote desktop connection and your good to go. | bob_doe_nz (92) | |
