I agree with Rob99 there - I prefer the multiple tabs which doesn't choke up the Windows taskbar.

>Am I Odd?

Nope!

I still have to revert to IE on occasion but it's no big deal.

So long ago I cant remember, but it was Opera version 2 . 5 or something like that, with Windows 95 I think or was it Win 3 . 11 . :)

I tell you what, I dug out my drive with Windows For Workgroups 3 . 11 a few weeks ago and downloaded Mosaic (you can still get it), and it still works .
WFWG runs very fast indeed on a 1 . 33GHz Thunderbird!

268154 2004-09-02 03:26:00 I only ever use IE if I have to.

Otherwise I'm using Firefox 99.99999%

I did visit on news site where they have an e-version applet, looks so good I was going to subcribe for it but turned out it will only run on IE so I cancelled.

268155 2004-09-02 03:41:00 Since moving to Firefox, I have configured it to look exactly like IE6 . The home users hadn't noticed the change until I pointed it out to them .

I much prefer Firefox, particularly having the configuration flexibility and the ability of blocking popups, the plugins that can be used (sorting bookmarks alphabetically, addblocking etc) and the multiple tabs .

It is much less resource hungry than IE and is not susceptible to the security issues of IE .

I havent had any cause to go back to IE and havent come across any site requiring the use of IE in preference to Firefox .

268156 2004-09-02 03:47:00 It's just plain wrong that when a popular browser does not work with a (standards) non-compliant site it is the browsers fault. Proprietary code is a different kettle of fish for which if, you stretch it, could be blamed on the browser but, there is no reason on earth for any modern browser not to work on any site except for shear bloody ignorance/sloppiness or intentionally. Don't forget there is Java then there is Java and as for ActiveX, one of the worst things foisted on innocent users ever. I am of the opinion that despite it's functionality IE is one of the crappiest tricks in the book no matter what is tipped on top of it to cover up it's faults Grrrrrrr. Ahhh, I feel much better now thanks.

TP, you use what you like for whatever reason and that goes for anyone.

268157 2004-09-02 03:48:00 Another reason I use IE from time to time is the google toolbar, I use it to vote for a site to increase it's search engine ranking.
Does anyone know if these extra buttons can be added to firefox?

268158 2004-09-02 04:06:00 Having been bombarded everywhere with the merits of Firefox I decided to install it. What do you know? The second site I visited with it (internet banking) correctly displayed a printable PDF layout, but Firefox refused to do so. I have since found that it will not handle PDF printing from other sites.
Also, I can not find a way to set up multiple ISP accounts, and the program always uses whatever ISP is set as the IE default at the time.
So........
The above, and other minor irritations, have sent me back to trusty IE.

268159 2004-09-02 04:10:00 Odd ? No more than those of us who stick to Win 98, OE6 etc etc. Everyone to their own needs ...
(But do try the current Opera ..)

268161 2004-09-02 04:24:00 Weird - I've been printing PDF on Firefox since day one without any problem. And I print a lot of PDFs. nzStan (440)
