267956 2004-09-01 21:04:00 That sounds like a very good solution G-H, hadn't come across that before.
How come it's free? Any fish-hooks?

267957 2004-09-01 22:26:00 Terry Porritt is correct, and in fact its the same service I use with a program called WinVNC to remotely monitor my home machine. And the new Dynalink RTA230 automatically updates DYNDNS.ORG with the ISP assigned IP address, so I don't have to do a thing. If the Router gets disconnected (By Telecom to stop me having the same IP address), when it reconnects, it automatically updates my DYNDNS.ORG address.
Why pay for a static IP anymore?

Dunno if they resume or not though....

Chill.

267959 2004-09-02 00:38:00 You are not really allowed to send copyrighted material, other than your own via YouSendIt.com

Here is one of the conditions:

8.4 Copyright or Trademark Infringement

YouSendIt Services may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including export control laws, is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by patent, copyright, trademark, service mark, trade secret or other intellectual property rights. If you use another party's material, you must obtain prior authorization. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are the author and copyright owner and/or proper licensee with respect to any hosted content and you further represent and warrant that no content violates the trademark or rights of any third party. YouSendIt reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Customer's transmission(s) that, in YouSendIt's discretion, violates these policies or violates any law or regulation.

Now what you do in the privacy of your own personal ftp server between consenting adults is your own affair. :)

CD-R! These days you can get a drive if you don't have one for $62 at http://www.jgih.com. It would sure save a bit of time.

You may like this webpage (www.pricespy.co.nz) if you think that's cheap ;-)

theres a reason noone has mentioned it. its a major pain. lost count of the times i've heard "please don't download off me as i'm trying to send a file to a mate" p2p is good if you want to share the file with a lot of people but pointless if your trying to send it directly to one person at the fastest possible speed.

267964 2004-09-03 15:09:00 Awww, damn pricespy. You try to run an innocent business and make money, and suddenly (well its been around for a while actually) people can buy stuff for like $5 more than you get it for.

Where's the fairness :(

But on the bright side, you don't see the absolute cheapest place getting 100% custom so there's still hope.

You learn to compete on service before and after Sale, customers' worth having consider more than Price.
