268484 2004-09-02 22:28:00 Why must you people post these?

Do you really think you're the only person out there that gets spammed/phished etc?

268485 2004-09-02 22:41:00 First time ive ever seen one,Very interesting.

WTF,did you see the doco Child in time the other night, they had an experiment showing at what stage of development toddlers figured out each person had an individaul brain, and hence not everyone knew the same info.

Maybe you leapfrogged that stage?

268486 2004-09-02 23:03:00 Stop it. Now. Both of you. Since I've been tagged a Nazi I kight start acting like one. Biggles (121)
268487 2004-09-02 23:30:00 I have to say, it looks pretty legit to me. Westpac still have the westpactrust.co.nz domain. What am I missing?

Like Metla, I have never seen one on these (I am a Westpac customer).

268488 2004-09-03 01:30:00 I would be very surprised if it's legit. Why don't you ring your local branch and see what they say. antmannz (28)
268489 2004-09-03 02:34:00 The link given is for the genuine Westpac log-in page.

What has not been given is the headers that were on the original email.

Likely these would indicate it was not from Westpac, even though the login link was the real thing.

Many scenarios are possible including getting targets comfortable with such things, then sending them a false link to a harvesting page, or using keyloggers to collect the data from a real entry etc.

Only providing a bit of the required info as has been done is like saying "is it a bird or a plane"? when only the person asking can see it.

268490 2004-09-03 02:35:00 Interesting to visit one of these scams, never seen one before. I would be suss because it's so simple, nice job on the westpac logo though. I wonder if the copy and pasted it or built it themselves And cheeky to make legitimate links on the left side.

I tried to log in with fake ID (I'm not a Westpac customer) just to annoy them but couldn't.

268491 2004-09-03 03:07:00 And Wetpac have noticed. ;-) They've got a warning up now. Graham L (2)
