2004-09-06 05:18:00 | I reckon slipstreaming it is the way to go. Nice clean install, no stuffing around 'patching' it when it's already running. | Nyet (437) | |

2004-09-06 20:37:00 | Installed SP2 the other day - all's good except I'm now getting a balloon message from the Security icon telling me that my PC security is dodgy, and the recommendation was to turn Norton Professional 2003 on! Huh? It IS on, updated and I assume doing it's thing. Apart from that, all's good. Tim

2004-09-06 21:37:00 | Upgraded my Dell 3.0GHZ P4 as recommended by Dell and installed SP 2 without hassle. Hesitated to report but if its statistics you want I guess this comment is useful

2004-09-06 23:21:00 | So far patched two PCs - Dell Inspiron 600m lappy, XP home. All seems fine. Also home built machine - Asus MB P4 1.5 ghz 256Mb ram XP home suffered some troubles: Spyware related, though. (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) Quite the opposite to Bruce, I'm loathe to update my office machines yet because they are mission critical, and I am the poor excuse for technical support. Thank god for PressF1. :o)

2004-09-07 00:11:00 | Still haven't done my home PC. Damn I'm a lazy slob. Maybe tonight. But then I'm about to wage war on the Amercians in my CivIII game and that does have a strong appeal ..... | Biggles (121) | |
2004-09-07 08:57:00 | Installed on home PC - worked a treat. No issues or hiccups at all AMD 2200+ processor Zone Alarm Pro AVG Adaware Spybot Daemon Tools etc all programs working perfectly as before. System still as fast - possibly even slightly faster on initial boot

2004-09-07 10:11:00 | Well I made the time. No problems so far on my home-built P4 2.6GHz. I'm running Norton Internet Security and aafter the update it popped up wit the recomendation to use it instead of Windows firewall, which I did and everything seems to be working just as before. | Biggles (121) | |
2004-09-07 22:01:00 | Question for all who said their installed SP2 works ok: Does your CD ROM drive auto start a magazine cover CD when inserted in your drive AFTER the SP2 upgrade? Both of my computers won't now. Many other brand new installations show the same fault. However some computers will Auto Start. Any experience of it by others and any clues as to how to fix the problem? Mahy Thanks John D
