| 269127 | 2004-09-04 01:27:00 | Ok so my laptop hates me and has for over a week now... I have a 1.6Ghz celeron, 512 mb ram, 30hdd PC Company laptop running Windows XP Prof without SP1 or SP2 (thats a whole other story). While running spybot, scan disk, photoshop or my Puzzle Pirates game (yarr!) my laptop very loudly beeps three times and restarts. I'm not this isn't too healthy for it. I noticed during the startup that its only counting about 300mb of ram (I know for sure theres 512 in there) and I'm noticing a decrease in power while doing everyday work on there. I had photoshop on there and the whole directory got corrupted (maybe thats an unrelated consequence). It just seems its slowly dying. I'm thinking the ram needs to be checked, plus a reformat of my hard drive in order for the service packs to be installed (since they won't right now). Am I on the right track? - Mizz |
