Why not buy something like a Promise T4700 (check) raid 0+1. which has 4 ide channels, you can stripe, mirror the stripe, and boot from the stripe. This card will support drives (single partitions) in excess of 200gb, is hot swappable, retails for less than $47-00 U.S. Linux Drivers are available for this card. It would enable you to have 1 optical as master on each ide, lower the ide load, and remove any risk of optical/boot drive conflict, O/s and optical would no longer share the same controller (= Transfer rate increase). Fit it all with 80 wire cable, it will fly. Or you could still boot from ide. and have more storage, Seemingly your objective. This maybe where some of my problems come from! You do not have any TV/video capture, Also a possible source of some of my issues. If you buy that particular card and it turns to custard. I am one of several who would buy it from you at cost. As long as you look after it! |

The middel men make the $500-00 jap scrapper cost kiwi boy $15000-00 +. are they still banging copm parts that hard? |

| 269096 | 2004-09-06 10:07:00 | So you are paying an importer (like me), and a secondary wholesaler, and adding your margin . If it is brought at o/s Wholesale it should still be under 200 . I picked that card because of its price I am looking at the promotin mat and it says $47-00 U . S . maybe that is wholesale . (I got my mobile racks from these people they only cost me $85-00 @ Delivered . They were $150-00 Retail local at the time . vipower vp-4015kp3f now superseeded by ata133 unit) . They are off duty, I did add C . I . F, And P . S . C, ($250-00 Per 20ft iso box, at expensive ports of Auckland) and an allowance for labour for the Entry . Maybe ther is money in P . C gear for other than the big boys after all . |
