269522 2004-09-05 21:41:00 No, this way WILL NOT decrease the quality of the audio. Ripping to hdd then to CD. You could even rip it, then burn it 10 or 100 times to CD. I doubt the quality of the sound would be affected.

Unless u have a crappy system. Or the Audio CD you're copying is stuffed now, or something (with age).

CD Copy or any other CD Copying program DON'T always copy CD's either.

dos this mean you just need to make a copy that will work in the car? if so there is no need to convert it to mp3, just to a striaght copy of the disc. you may have to burn the new disk at slower speed in case the cd player is a bit fussy.

btw .cda isn't a format as such, the music tracks are wave files which you can rip onto your hardrive (ie no converting to mp3) so you don't losse any quailty.

not to sure what is ment by this. any conversion to mp3 will result in poorer quality. mp3 is a lossy codec it always loses data. whether you can here the differece depends on a lot of factors.

269524 2004-09-05 22:52:00 Best output for mp3s is on 192kbps. I rip mine using Cd-Xtractor. (http://xtractor.sourceforge.net/) FeuerBrennt (5971)
269525 2004-09-05 22:58:00 I use Jetaudio +. It rips,burns,converts,records and broadcasts.

And has a few good things in it. Equaliser, can download the lyrcs to a song/MP3 you're playing, Sound2Vision (different presets, that go to the music).

Even a clock / alarm / timer to wake u up lol.

269526 2004-09-05 23:00:00 best output is highly subjective :)

do you use vbr or cbr ? also what codec is used ?

with mp3's it comes down to size vers percived sound quaility. personally rip mine to ogg.

*yawn* he said he was ripping to MP3 which is not a lossless format.
