269585 2004-09-05 22:38:00 Ah OK. Delete that entry and reboot bollocks. See what happens. I take it, this CD has worked before? Or have u just installed it??

If it has just been installed, is it enabled in the BIOS?? And is it on AUTO in the BIOS?? And if also just installed, whats it set on?? Master or slave on the back of it??

And what else is connected to it (if another burner or DVD)??

269586 2004-09-05 23:03:00 It has worked until recently, installed in May.Something to do with Realtek? was removed. What do you mean by delete entry?I have Nero but have never used it. bollocks (6128)
269587 2004-09-05 23:06:00 Where that X shows in device manager for that CD. Highlight it, press the delete key delete it then reboot. It will reappear

Have another look under device manager, see if any other X's show in there for any other devices.

Or you could try getting the latest version of Windows Media Player V10.

Which came out recently. It doesnt look too bad.
