269546 2004-09-05 20:32:00 Just a small query about the date order of the In Box.

How and what causes the date order to go out of sink, this has happened several times over the years.

13 e-mails of yesterday's date appear randomly throughout the In Box.

The list is in fact in Alphabetical order!!!!!!!!!!, which is bl**dy strange, as I am the only one here and have no need to ever sort in this way.

269547 2004-09-05 22:24:00 Try this right click on Recieved on the menu bar in the right pane and it will show a sort menu where you can pick how you want the order.
Making it stay that way though ??

269548 2004-09-05 23:51:00 Just clicking with the left mouse button on any of the column headings will sort by that column in either ascending or descending order (there is a little triangle appears to show you which).

So just click on the "Received" column with the left as mentioned and it will sort correctly again.

The only other time this can happen is if messages are sent with incorrect date stamps which is a common problem.

269549 2004-09-06 05:34:00 Thanks johnboy and whiskeytangofoxtrot, the received column is set to ascending.

My Inbox has about 25 e-mails from 2 months back, mostly Genealogy type, so today's lot were interspersed at various dates along the way, this happens when 30 or 40 queries come in the one day.

Perhaps the .dbx file is too full and new stuff is slotted into recent deletions.

It's nothing critical just wondering.

Ps. Perhaps some servers' have backlogs. Paradise, Yahoo are 2 amongst today's lot, besides Xtra.
