| 270281 | 2004-09-08 03:45:00 | Hello all, just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before. I use MS Word (2002) and find I can only delete sections of text using 'DEL'. If I use 'Backspace' or try to 'type over' the text it seems to just ignore the text and start entering data after/before it. I've had a hunt around the settings to try and change this back (it doesn't do it in any other software I use) but had now joy. Any thoughts? Thanks. | joe_exception (2874) | ||

Not sure what you mean about the backspace key - you may need to be more specific if this doesn't help... cheers, S |

| 270285 | 2004-09-08 22:03:00 | Thanks for this guys. I possibly wasn't quite clear enough about this... I was aware of the 'OVR' setting (pushing 'Insert') which causes you to type over anything *in front* of the (flashing) cursor - my problem was that I wanted to *replace* highlighted/selected text (which I couldn't do without hitting 'delete' first). 'Backspace' also acts like a character entry in Word so I couldn't replace text with this key either. Godfather's suggestion fixed my problem however so all is now good. Cheers. |
