2004-09-08 01:12:00 | Hi everyone - After reading all the posts about this firewall I thought I'd give it a go. Now my pc has a severe problem - after the download but before a restart the pc warned me that my windows disk was seriously low on space - so I deleted the Temp Internet files - the pc then locked up - no worries has I have to reboot to activate Outpost. Black screen while files are updated - then blue screen with scandisk - hit "Cancel" - nothing happens - scandisk is still scanning - next thing "Connect to the internet" pops up, but without a password - hit "Cancel" - nothing - scandisk finishes - hit "Close" - nothing. Try Ctrl, Alt, Del and only two items loaded - I think it was Astray and Loader - and thats it Hope someone has some ideas as to what might be going on HP 720A - ME - IE6 - OL6 - AVG - and now outlook !!!!!!!

2004-09-08 02:09:00 | Try downloading and running CWShredder (www.majorgeeks.com) and Adaware (www.majorgeeks.com) | Pheonix (280) | |
2004-09-08 02:12:00 | CWS is pretty impressive in it's implementation. I imagine on boot it's gone "OMG !(@*#&$(@#&%(@#&% A FIREWALL!!!!!!!11 which is causing the problem. Get a hold of CW Shredder (Google is your friend) and boot up in safe mode and run it. That or go into safe mode and try removing the loader.exe from StartUP

2004-09-08 02:33:00 | Thanks guys - one small problem (can't check it from work though) it that nothing happens after the scandisk has finished - it seems to just get that far and lose interest in booting up - so it's like a blue screen of death but with a finished scan and a connect to internet window open | Shaun_68 (5877) | |
2004-09-08 04:46:00 | Safe Mode is selected before scan disk starts. | whiskeytangofoxtrot (438) | |
2004-09-08 22:48:00 | Had a good look last night - seems that for some reason a lot of the config type files have disappeared - which is why it's not booting up. Tried to re-load ME but the pc reckons that there isn't enough room - so it looks like it might be a case of FDisk and start again - this time I'm sticking to SE. Thanks for you help so far
