| 270098 | 2004-09-07 04:21:00 | All the different Anti virus programs are a bit confusing to a newbie. I have faithfully renewed my Norton 2002 every year but since it is about to expire should I: 1 Renew the subscription To Norton 2 Get the free version (v6) of AVG 3 Invest in V7 of AVG at US$33.20 for 2 years 4 Invest in NOD32 at NZ$62.40 per year. 5 Acquire some other program entirely. I have the same question about the Firewall. Should I renew Norton's or acquire another product and if so, what? I would greatly appreciate some guidance since all the options are very confusing Thanks |

| 270100 | 2004-09-07 04:49:00 | I use AVG and am happy with it. Also ZoneAlarm firewall. Reputably Nod32 is the best. I'm having a problem at the moment with my machine and if it turns out to be a virus then I'll seriously look at Nod. |

Firewalls: Sygate Kero . . . Zone Alarm Before you chose another firewall do a search here to see which one most people are asking for help with, then pick a different one . |

Prior to that I was using AVG free and before that PCcillin (about 2001 to 2004, good software IMO) and before that the system rot they call NAV, real sod to kill off in fact never really got rid of it until I reinstalled Windows and even then I wasn't 100% sure it hadn't planted something .
