270071 2004-09-07 03:48:00 Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? Or getting updated drivers?? Spacemannz (808)
270072 2004-09-07 03:51:00 Windows update probally decided to give you an updated generic driver.

Never ever accept these if they crop up.

I would suggest removing it via device manager and reloading the drivers from the original CD.

If you only have recovery cd's then....well....thats what happens when you make bad purchases.

Be fair metla. Offering advice is one thing, slagging somebody's choice of machine is another and is totally unnecessary.

Many users are quite happy with their purchasing decision, recovery CDs or not, and the sales figures for the manufacturers prove that it is not an issue for their target market. We accept that you are not in that market group, and nor am I for that matter.

270075 2004-09-07 05:21:00 Plus many people are simply unaware of whether they are getting a full copy of Win or not and aren't sufficiently up to speed to know the significance of not getting the full CD. Biggles (121)
270076 2004-09-07 05:24:00 Doesn't make it a wise purchase.

Can't hurt to educate them for their next purchase.

I totally agree Metla. Just saying that since it's possible people don't know the difference/significance of the difference, a little more detail in your education, rather than a simple "thats what happens when you make bad purchases" might be a good idea. ;)

270079 2004-09-07 05:47:00 hmmm....ok......But chances are i'll never reach the level of perfection insisted upon by Billy T.

Even taking 2 points off for not explaining my reasoning (hey im lazy...er....i mean busy) my post still has merit where as Billy T's contaions none, and he thinks he's the one to insist on post standards?

My mind would boggle....if it wasn't already all boggled out.
