Do you think you could be a lil more detailed in your answers and questions it would make solving your problem alot easier.

When you say "no updates for motherboard bios" does that mean none are avalible or you choose not to update your BIOS? How are the PATA drives configured? Master or Slave? Primary or Secondary channel?

Could you provide a few more details about the blue screen, at what stage do you see the BSOD? While loading windows or after? Does it even make it to windows?

So, now you know, good practice, all ways disable video/bios shadow/cache (not cpu), in bios, before make system h/w change, make life easy, some bios you can not disable, very headache.

Good tip For everyone.
