270211 2004-09-07 21:13:00 I am investigating a camera that requires USB digital interface, ver 2.0. How do I find if my computer (12 months old) can handle USB2 or is USB1?

If it is a ver 1.0 is there an upgrade way?

Thanks

270212 2004-09-07 21:26:00 Hello Leon , depending on Windows [?] version you should be able to see if USB2 is present under my computer -[R click] properties - device manager - usb controllers ; how old is your computer ? If you have usb 1.0 or 1.1 you may be able to install a usb2.0 pci card if the computer / os is up to it - or the camera may run thru the usb 1 interface , just slower [ if it's a stills camera , forget usb 1 for a movie camera ] , regards Mike KatiMike (242)
270213 2004-09-07 21:29:00 Nope if u have USB 1.1 you need to update the motherboard. No software updates USB 1.1 to USB 2.

If you have something like Enhanced USB in device manager, or something you have USB2. If not USB 1.1. More modern mobo's should have USB 2.
