One of my friends is on broadband (UFB actually) and its all working - but not very fast)

But sometimes he gets asked to connect to his old dialup connection, which he has not used for years,

I have hunted around everywhere, but I cannot see where to remove it as a network connection on Vista.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

1370252 2014-03-16 04:25:00 If the UFB connection is "not very fast" there may be another problem. Maybe that needs looking at as well. linw (53)
1370253 2014-03-16 04:42:00 Have heard ( dont know if its true or not) that UFB takes a while to settle down and gain speed - Seems a bit odd, but I know with Telstra/Vodafone cable as soon as any changes are made, it can be instant (within a minute any way) Last time I did with a change here, the Telstra service guy changed the plan and it took a few seconds. ( he had a direct line to "the people in the know") wainuitech (129)
1370254 2014-03-16 10:34:00 Could be dialer malware (Does anyone even still make these??) Agent_24 (57)

UFB should run fine straight off. VDSL has a DLM training service so can take time to optimise.

If the UFB is not right, maybe it dropped off causing an alternative (dialler) to be called??? (Straw grasping here!!).
