| 1369938 | 2014-03-11 01:10:00 | I got some questions regarding tablets that are running win8, specifically around the Surface range but if other tablets handle it differently I need to know that too. How does networking work in a Windows 8 tablet? Does RT handle it any different? Is this networking like the iPad or more complex and akin to Win7? Do other Win8 tablets do this differently from the Surface range? What are the pitfalls of networking like this in Win8? Do these tablets handle Win8 networking protocols the same as a Win8 laptop does? Thanks |

| 1369939 | 2014-03-11 01:15:00 | I haven't tried one But I believe that networking is the same as for a windows 7 or 8 PC on Both the RT & normal versions. I find it quite appealing as interfacing my android tablet with the network to stream video is a little awkward (but it works) |

| 1369940 | 2014-03-11 02:01:00 | I find it quite appealing as interfacing my android tablet with the network to stream video is a little awkward (but it works) tell me about it ;) it does work, but theres several steps to go through, and I had to install a program to allow the android to browse the network. Never used a actual Tablet with Windows 8 8.1, but according to the specs its the normal OS on a tablet, after all it is a touch screen OS, so it should work exactly the same as a desktop or laptop with windows 8 on it, only wireless, since most tablets dont have a ethernet port on them. |

| 1369944 | 2014-03-11 03:18:00 | Just purchase the Windows Surface 2 the other week and when first ran I had to give my user name and password (as windows 8) for my Microsoft account, and never had to add or make any more more changes and it connects to my Telecom VDSL router for surfing the net or downloading my kindle books without a problem. Which is one of the main reasons I purchased one to be able to read my colour technical books with the Kindle app. Have been very happy with its performance and quite easily watch youtube HD videos without any real delay (so far :) The Telecom Modem is not known to be one of the better wireless units, but all seems fine at present. Can't help with other questions as it is still new to me. David |

In the developers order of which app to develop first, Windows tablet apps are last on the list, Android is 2nd and iPhone apps are first due to lower cost to develop, easier to test and most efficient store for distribution. |
