| 1369448 | 2014-03-05 04:01:00 | Hey all! I just got a new surround sound system (www.logitech.com) for my PC! Problem is, apparently my PC doesn't support surround sound, so I can't use these speakers to their full potential.... My question: If I get this: www.computerlounge.co.nz card and throw it in my PC, and connect the speakers just through an Aux cable, will they work in 5.1 surround sound? Thanks a bunch guys! |

| 1369449 | 2014-03-05 04:06:00 | If its similar to the Z506 which I use here. I just ticked speaker fill under sounds (once you set it 5:1) and sound comes thru the 6 speakers | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

I just ticked speaker fill under sounds (once you set it 5:1) and sound comes thru the 6 speakers I don't have a problem with sounds coming out of all the speakers. I just want it to actually work like a surround sound system. E.g. If I'm playing battlefield and a helicopter flies past behind me the speakers actually create that 'effect' of it flying past behind me. |

That said, that card will work fine if it doesn't. Note of course that card is PCI-E, so make sure you have the appropriate slot. My question: If I get this: www.computerlounge.co.nz card and throw it in my PC, and connect the speakers just through an Aux cable, will they work in 5.1 surround sound? Thanks a bunch guys! What do you mean by "connect the speakers just through an Aux cable" ? If you are using the analog outputs on that card there will be 3 cables (or at least, a cable with 3 plugs on it). If you are using the digital TOSLINK output you will just need the one fiber optic cable. Assuming your speakers support that. |

| 1369454 | 2014-03-05 05:21:00 | What motherboard / sound card do you have now? are you sure it doesn't do 5.1? Also bear in mind the game has to support 5.1 as well as mentioned, not all do. Many years ago before the advent of 5.1 systems for the PC I invested in a 4.1 set of speakers and was all excited to play some FPS games with surround sound, figuring I'd be able to tell where sounds were coming from. It never worked properly, the cables were a pain in the arse to route, and locating speakers behind me wasn't very practical. I never got any more than stereo sound repeated at the rear so I eventally reverted back to stereo and have happily stayed there ever since. I'm sure these days the experience is greatly improved, but there's still the issue of speakers and wires all about the place. |

I have the speakers connected to my PC through a headphone port with an auxiliary ( . walmartimages . com/i/p/00/72/28/68/85/0072286885244_500X500 . jpg" target="_blank">i . walmartimages . com) cable . |
