| 1351763 | 2013-08-22 00:45:00 | Hi Gang Cheapskate PJ has been searching for a Cousin in the UK. Very frustrating as there are few, if any, truly free sites. So damned frustrating. Whatever happened to the word "FREE". Rant over. PJ |

FamilySearch.org has always been free up to a point, all the other sites coming on stream and compiling data need to pay transcribers for doing the work. Family Search of course were doing it for their parish members', to be able to sanctify their sins. I think that I will have to answer for my own sins and not expect some grandchild to do it for me. | 1351765 | 2013-08-22 06:07:00 | I hear you PJ but I discovered that our library has a subscription to Ancestry.com and FindMyPast.com for library members to use for free. Check and see if your library does the same. We are only allowed a maximum of two hours per day in certain libraries and 30 minutes in others, so I have to go prepared and try not to get too sidetracked. For those who remember my genealogy query a few months ago I have found information on my great-grandfather, James Jones, and have made very good progress with my tree. |

Have found partially free Electoral Rolls but the person appears to have elected to hve details with-held. Cannot afford to subscribe to Paid sites. Yes our Library does have Acestry.co library version. Getting there is a physical challenge.. Foxy...well done with your research. PJ |
