1351310 2013-08-16 03:39:00 Crikey, hope you guys in/near Welly and Marlborough are OK. Felt that 6.9 rattle down here in ChCh just now. :(

Edit: It has been downgraded to 6.2 now. Whatever it was it was a big one!

1351312 2013-08-16 03:59:00 It was a good-n, you know how hard it is to type while the desk is shaking, screen wobbling all over the place, dog running and hiding under the desk. That's was just at the start, then main part of it hit, geeeeeeees the damn house shook, -- Stuff the typing under the doorway.

SWMBO is on her way home along with every one else on her floor, her building was swaying like crazy according to her, shes in a terrible state - she hates them.

OOPS-- another jolt even as I type, and its still going -- here comes the dog again . See ya :)

1351313 2013-08-16 04:16:00 It has triggered a whole run of them on what looks to be the same or similar faults right up to Murupara and Turangi. Will be an early start to the weekend for everybody most likely. FoxyMX (5)
1351314 2013-08-16 04:30:00 Interesting how dogs don't need to be taught what to do :) dugimodo (138)
1351315 2013-08-16 04:43:00 First one I felt in a long time on the hills above Wakefield The Hedge outside the widow here was swaying and the pond was rippling. The computer shifted across a bit,(mental note to get out the sticky tape) Have felt 3 so far. Arnie (6624)
1351316 2013-08-16 05:03:00 Grrrr......

Ok, you guys in Wellington were affected and noticeably.

But:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/

Look, main headline (can't paste link to that)

Wellington struck by severe earthquake

Hello, last time I passed through Seddon, it was in Marlborough. So now the entire top of the South Island is in Wellington.
That's the sort of idiot thing overseas does.....

How about Wellington shaken by severe earthquake In Seddon instead??

Be accurate you reporters....it's insulting to those in Marlborough, it's not all about Wellington.....

Main article:

www.nzherald.co.nz

A house had almost totally collapsed just south of Lake Grassmere in Marlborough. There were no injuries.

Yes, so that person won't be happy about reports of the Wellington earthqauke.

1351318 2013-08-16 05:45:00 HEADLINE READS: "Earthquake hits Seddon" versus "Earthquake hits Wellington".

Now which one do you think is going to get the most coverage/interest??

:)
