1351506 2013-08-23 04:31:00 Right so you're syncing high enough. Ring them and complain :P
Yeah I found the TG589's also locked up a lot... But mine would only last about a minute on my LAN before dying coz of the number of devices I have and things ;)
on phone now, gone through the whole are the lights on on the router.....

1351508 2013-08-23 05:24:00 I love that... "Have you tried powering it on and off again?"
"Yes, I'm getting sync, but no IP address, it looks like something is up with your radius coz my authentication is being rejected but I've factory reset it and retyped the password"
"Sir I'm sorry I'll need you to power it off then on again"
"I'm driving home though and can't, I just saw it was off before I left and called my wife and had her check it"
"Well you'll need to call back when you're home Sir"
"Oh OK fine, wait a second... Yep OK power cycled, you should see it coming back up shortly" (Did nothing)
"Hmm OK what lights can you see on it"
"I can see the sync light is on but no internet"
"What's the sync light sir? We don't have that in our manual here"
"That's coz I'm using a different router and I'm making up the lights on the front of it"
"Oh I'm sorry Sir, you'll need to plug in the router we supplied you with"
... No lies I've had things go like that only to end up with "Let me put you through to Level 2 support, one moment".
Then Level 2 support answer and ask what's up:
"I've got DSL sync but no auth, so no IP. I factory wiped it and re-entered my details but it's still being rejected"
"Ah OK I can see there's an issue here with the radius server that you're on, let me fix that up... one second... there, all done, and I can see your router has successfully authenticated"
"Thankyou, bye"

Gotta love the first level monkeys huh? :p

1351509 2013-08-23 06:08:00 Mine took a while to get to top speed too. Sync rate was fine but it stayed on ADSL speeds for a while.

So far the Thomson has been fine, no issues with 4 PCs and a printer... Not tried the advanced features yet though (like USB sharing). WiFi currently turned off since I use a separate Linksys.

Had it on 24/7 since install.

1351511 2013-08-23 08:09:00 I forget now, it was a few hours at least. Maybe not even until the next morning. It went up in stages, I do remember I was still on ADSL2+ speed initially, albiet top ADSL2+ speeds (22 Mbit Down and 1 Up) Agent_24 (57)
1351512 2013-08-23 08:35:00 Yep, just done another test. Well within what my line speed says so a happy chappy plod (107)
1351513 2013-08-24 01:15:00 After a month of ever degrading download speeds (30 at the beginning of July, falling to 11 by early August) the Chorus tech replaced a corroded connection earlier this week (somewhere - don't care where!) and I'm back to 39 down!! johcar (6283)
1351514 2013-08-24 02:54:00 My VDSL didn't work for 24 hours after installation - sometimes they are just slow doing the configuration. (Got an initial speedtest to work then it stopped).

Been rock solid ever since though, my network gets reasonably heavy use and it's not dropped once.
It's dealing with 3-4 PC's, 2 tablets, and a smartphone and some heavy Downloads and no problem...... except it's not really, it's in bridge mode and my asus is doing most of the work :)

1351515 2013-08-25 02:49:00 Well, not impressed. Constant dropping out of the Internet. Never had this problem before with ADSL, just need to carm myself down before I ring them. plod (107)
