1369458 2014-03-05 05:26:00 Does BF work?? Last time I heard, it was full of bugs

Works great, but sometimes crashes or freezes (Very rarely, around once every 1-2 weeks)

1369459 2014-03-05 05:35:00 I'd expect it to do 5.1, check the manual. A typical Z77 board such as this www.asus.com has 8 channel support but it depends what sound hardware the manufacturer used.
How many Audio Jacks aer on the back and what colours? they often multitask for example the pink mic in might also be able to be used as a rear out or something, some audio drivers ask what you plug in when they sense it connect.

You may just need to set it up correctly. Then again there are many standards and the game may require a particular one be available.

+1 You may even be able to use the front panel, I know if your audio chipset is realtek you can enable both the rear and front jacks to play different streams of audio. You can also set up the type of surround sound configuration you are running based on what the software detects is plugged in. I imagine other types of chipsets support similar features.

1369461 2014-03-05 05:52:00 I have the speakers connected to my PC through a headphone port with an auxiliary (i.walmartimages.com) cable.

That cable only carries 2 channels. You would need 3 of those cables for full 5.1 channel.

1369462 2014-03-05 05:58:00 Okay, so I've dug up the manual and have discovered the my motherboard DOES support 5.1 surround sound, and as Agent_24 said I need more cables. So do I have to buy more cables and set it up that way or is there some software which will allow me to do it with more cables?
Thanks!

I assume you mean 'is there some software which will allow me to do it with less cables' ?

No. Not unless you use some kind of digital output like Coax or TOSLINK which multiplexes everything.
Or you do as Speedy suggested and use a virtual 5.1 surround from stereo.. but it won't be true 5.1 surround so you might as well just get the extra cables.
