1351496 2013-08-23 01:39:00 So all installed, tech left before it came on but said the line check was 40 down and 10 up. getting 18 down which is a big improvement but just under 1 up. plod (107)
1351497 2013-08-23 02:29:00 Should be a bit faster than that... Both upload and download? Like I'd expect at least 5mbps up, and maybe 90% of your downstream sync speed?
It'll change a little over the coming couple of days with the Dynamic Line Management (DLM) settings which tweak your interleaving and whatnot, but still, I'd expect faster :-/

1351498 2013-08-23 02:32:00 If it doesn't improve dramatically in a couple days, you may still be on an ADSL2 profile, in which case your ISP would need to arrange to swap it over. It isn't common, but it does happen. Sometimes they swap it quickly, sometimes they wait till Chorus finish all the paperwork saying it's done (which can take up to 48 hours I'm told). inphinity (7274)

1351500 2013-08-23 02:55:00 Nah I call BS on the 48 hours, doesn't take them that long. What's your router make / model? Screenshot of your line status / details page? Chilling_Silence (9)

The 48 hours is not a technical limitation, it's a "We got around to changing your shaping profile" limitation. There've been a number of instances of users moving form ADSL2 to VDSL, router syncing at ~40/10, but only achieving ~20/1 for the first day or so. That said, you could ring up and ask right away if you wanted - that can work too and might be quicker ;)

1351503 2013-08-23 03:32:00 It's a Thomson Technicolor TG589vn v2. They're surprisingly good, though Telecom's web GUI for them is a bit sluggish. I have found mine locks up with a high number of concurrent sessions, but that doesn't happen that often so it's pretty solid.

You should be able to go to Broadband -> DSL - Details to get line sync speeds etc

Alternately, you can telnet to it and do
xdsl info expand=enabled
to get a bunch of line stats, including bearer details etc.

1351505 2013-08-23 04:08:00 Right so you're syncing high enough. Ring them and complain :P
Yeah I found the TG589's also locked up a lot... But mine would only last about a minute on my LAN before dying coz of the number of devices I have and things ;)
