I was standing on a footpath talking with two friends when the first quake came - I felt dizzy and thought I must be sick or ate some dodgy food for lunch, then my friends started to point at items in town swaying. Lets hope that this swarm is not a precursor to a BIG one... |

People must have been calling into the Wellington Railway Station to offer stranded passengers a ride after rail commuter services were cancelled. The Police stepped in to organise the situation. Police stopped traffic outside the Wellington train station to get drivers with empty seats in their vehicles to pick up stranded passengers. |
