| 270776 | 2004-09-09 11:56:00 | Hi I know AVG runs in the background of whatever program I'm in at it's scheduled time. But after finally figuring out what my password was for Administrator, I have also scheduled Spybot to do the same. However Spybot jumps to the front of the screen and waits for me to hit check for problems. Duh, Have finally figured out why it wouldn't reduce to smaller size. Anyway, can I carry on working on a program or the net while spybot and ad-aware continue on in the back ground? Marg. |

| 270777 | 2004-09-09 12:06:00 | Yes. I have even tried scaning with AVG, Spybot and adware all at the same time, the computer could still do other things but it was ever so slow. I did this to see if it was possible and what would finish first. 1st place: Adware 2nd place: Spybot but only about 1 minute after 3rd place AVG finished about 15 minutes after they all had finished. However I would recomend scaning one at a time. |

| 270778 | 2004-09-09 12:27:00 | Thanks Rob, Was surprised by the times your programs ran. Mine: Adaware is the shortest. [a. 5-6mins} AVG comes next with me. [a. 7mins] Spybot drags its feet, mainly on CoolWWWSearch which takes forever, and Golden palace casino. [And no, I don't surf the casinos on the net!] Took up to 12 mins one time. My notebook is 40gb [in reality 37.2GB] and still have 34GB free. So these programs don't have much to search through. Probably slow because only 256 Ram. Marg. |

| 270779 | 2004-09-09 12:43:00 | Should have mentioned the whole process took about an hour, about the same time to scan with each program seperatly so I didnt save any time. LOL. I have about 40-60g to scan on a 80g drive, depending on how many dvd's are on there at the time. |
