| 270590 | 2004-09-09 03:33:00 | I have XP Pro installed and I use My IE2 instead of Windows Explorer,use Zone Alarm Pro as a firewall, Kaspersky Gold as a virus protection dont use Outlook Express or Messenger and wonder what or do I need to install service pack 2 when I read of some problems that could develop if it is installed with some software. Will it do anything for me with the above programs I have installed and touch wood I have never had a virus or any problems with my system that has caused major problems Thanks | norrol (2154) | ||

There is also a link to the programmes that have conflicted or shown problems with SP2 in at least one of the threads, although I would not count such a list as exhautive at this stage of proceedings. MyEI is just IE with bells, if your concerned about IE security use a different engine like Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc. I don't use XP but, if I did, I would install SP2 but wait a while yet before doing so. | 270592 | 2004-09-09 03:47:00 | If your system is reliable & gives no problems, leave it alone. If you are careful & keep the AV & Fire Wall updated you shouldn't have any problems. You would probably be safer using Mazilla Firefox than your modifeid Internet Explorer. |

Those Programs should work fine after you install SP 2, on our other computer which has SP2 on it we have Zone Alarm Pro as the firewall & it works fine. If you do have any problems just post here & I or some one else will try & help you :) |
