270521 2004-09-09 03:33:00 I have XP Pro installed and I use My IE2 instead of Windows Explorer, use Zone Alarm Pro as a firewall, Kaspersky Gold as a virus protection dont use Outlook Express or Messenger and wonder what or do I need to install service pack 2 when I read of some problems that could develop if it is installed with some software. Will it do anything for me with the above programs I have installed and touch wood I have never had a virus or any problems with my system that has caused major problems Thanks norrol (2154)

270523 2004-09-09 03:51:00 Just because most of the SP2 threads have been de-stickied less than a few hours ago, doesn't mean you need to start up yet another 'should I install SP2 thread'. Pillar (439)
270524 2004-09-09 03:55:00 Okay Pillar, care to share your other/previous user names? Biggles (121)

Ok, just to fuel your insipient paranoia I have created myself another username. My other usernames are Pillar and Pillar0. Are you happy?

Isn't it a pity there aren't more like me instead?

Anyhow,Yes install sp2 but make sure you do a scan for spyware first, and kill off any secirty programs that you may have running as these potentially have the ability to disrupt the install process.

Other then that,myie2 is just a skin on IE,better off using a non-ms product.
