270699 2004-09-09 11:34:00 I don't agree with that at all,Trademe in this case are providing an outlet for mass distibutation of pirate software and should have actions in place to counter it,they have to insist that all software sold has a key.

hell,if turners were auctioning or letting there premises be used to auction off illigal goods the cops would be there confiscating gear left right and center.

You allow pirate goods to be sold on your premis you are aiding and abbeting (in American Facilitating) The site is the premis. Not only are T/m breaking the law, they are also blatantly breaching a legal agreement with manufacturers.

We know they have no Ethics or Morals. The law says simply. If you do not wish to honour your responsibilities as vendor, DONT VEND.

270707 2004-09-10 09:17:00 It bothers me, when a newish member of this forum, who is confused over product key identification, asks for help, with what, to me, seems like a logical request and instead of getting help,a group of ignorant members decide to hijack the thread and turn it into a private rant.Although some help was offered,by others,it was lost amongst the selfish ranting.
This type of behaviour is becoming more frequent of late, and seems to go unchecked.
In my opinion, this sort of behaviour lowers the standard of the forum.
I also reckon that the ranters that decided to hijack this thread, should apologise to the original poster for their behaviour,if not, they should just bugger off if that's all they have to offer.

Hook.

I came back to this thread as I wanted to find out if the original poster had found the CD Key that he/she had lost, misplaced or never actually had in the first place.

As various people have pointed out, ( including me ) it is not likely that the CD key for Office is on the Tower case.

I have now taken the trouble to investigate and read other posts by the same original poster. There is an AVG thread and Gimp is in another thread.

I note that the original poster has not gone to the trouble of posting back here at all on this thread.

For all I know that person has now got a CDKey from the Internet (SHONKY) or has gone back to the supplier of their HP computer running WinXP home.

Who would know?

It would be polite in my opinion to say, "Problem solved!"
The retailer came up with a proper CDKey or the retailer didn't and I found one on the internet.

One would think that the reason for the original post was that the person can't find a valid key for Office which should have been supplied.
