I am mostly pointing out that If I had physical access to your computer I can make a mess of it. This matters not what O/S you run.

Take the side off and reset any password you have in the bios. Set the bios to boot off CDRom. Arrive with the ultimate boot disk or any boot disk or disks.

Given enough unsupervised time I could make it so you don't have access to any account in Linux or Windows.

I am not suggesting that WinXP is more secure than any version of Linux.

270938 2004-09-10 14:20:00 Ah! yes of course. Locks only keep honest people out anyway and the other sort are just as like to junk the place as pinch your goodies. Wouldn't a hammer do a quicker job, though not as elegant as trashing the MBR or partitions :)
