271129 2004-09-11 00:47:00 After connecting to the net, the Connection-Icon in the system tray doesn't show up, despite the appropriate box in the ISP window being checked. Can someone help please, - thanks. fritz (1552)
271130 2004-09-11 00:57:00 Fritz, Ive posted an answer of sorts in your other thread. Do you have a dialup modem connection or an adsl connection (network/lan).

271131 2004-09-11 01:19:00 Thanks Murray P, I got a dail-up connection and running Windows XP. Just to avoid any confusion - the missing icon is the one in the System Tray (2 little monitors) not the one I need to connect to the net.
Cheers

271132 2004-09-11 01:27:00 Try this (help.expedient.com)

I don't use XP and haven't used dialup for a long time and that was with win98 so things are a bit hazy.

HTH

271133 2004-09-11 03:43:00 Go Start | Settings | Control Panel | Network Connections | Right click on your connection | Properties and on the General tab tick the Show Icon in Notification Area When Connected checkbox Greg S (201)
271134 2004-09-11 05:40:00 Thanks Greg, did that - still doesn't show. I give up.
