| 271190 | 2004-09-11 01:28:00 | sorry. When i run the Exchange System manager and go into protocols and then into POP3 it says that its not started and has a red X over the icon. When i right click on it and click start it does nothing for ages and then it stops and says that it couldn't be started. Also (This is a even bigger problem) i have got it to recive emails from the internet BUT i cant send them from it, they just end up in the que waiting to go but they cant. Does anyone know why? | 271191 | 2004-09-11 01:35:00 | Bit of confusion there. but if it's receiving emails, it must have at least one pop(3) service enabled. Check in system. And Sending messages uses the smtp protocol, usually configured just after you set up pop3. for a setting use - - s m t p.<y o u r n a m e>.<y o ur i s p.> nz cheers, R2 |

| 271192 | 2004-09-11 01:47:00 | I have got it running through NO-IP until we change to orcon. i can send emails to user@wws.hopto.org and they come through fine and that all goes, but when i send emails from OWA or Outlook 2003 it doesnt send them. it just stays in the que. I have tried a few things but they dont go. Last time (about a year ago) when i had exchange running on my old server it would send emails but it wouldnt recive them becuase i didnt know how to do that then, now i do but i cant send emails from my server. I have run the internet email thing on the Exchange 2003 organization. I need to be able to send emails for an email server. Daniel |

Exchange Support Center here (support.microsoft.com) The default POP3 and IMAP4 virtual servers are stopped and you cannot connect to the POP3 and the IMAP4 services in Windows Small Business Server 2003 here (support.microsoft.com) here (support.microsoft.com) |

| 271196 | 2004-09-11 09:20:00 | thanks for that, ive got pop3 going now. Now all thats left is getting OUT going mail going. I cannot work out why it isnt sending the emails out side of my exchange server. I think it has something to do with the DNS, but it can ping the yahoo and hotmail sites so i dont know why it wont send emails to those servers. Please Help Daniel |
