271641 2004-09-12 07:19:00 Can anyone help? I have a DSE ADSL Ethernet Router which works fine with Jetstream. I am trying to set up a home-based wireless network. I have bought a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router to do this, and want to get it working just using cables first of all, but can't seem to get this to talk "properly" to the ADSL modem. Everything sets up OK, the lights seem to flash to show internet activity, but when I use the Linksys setup wizard, it tests the setup and says it can't connect to the modem. When I test the connections, all pings work, except the one through to the internet.

I am probably missing something really simple in making the two talk to each other, but having trawled support, I cannot see what it is. Any thoughts/help?

271642 2004-09-12 07:46:00 How have you configured the AP? If my memory servers me right you have to have the AP/Router setup to assign all local IP's but tell the AP/Router itself to obtain its IP from the DSE Router. Otherwise the two routers will be competing with each other to assign IP to your clients.

You would have better better off just buying a standard AP instead of a AP/Router combo.
