| 271520 | 2004-09-12 04:28:00 | Hi Team Like most small businesses I keep a fax running for the odd message that can't be emailed, and recently I have noticed a significant increase in spam messages. In years gone by we used to get heaps of them, rolling in at any hour of the day or night but my "send another and you will be invoiced" policy cut that down to nothing in just a few months. Some had to pay before they finally got the message that I was serious. Since then I have had nothing but the very occasional Nigerian letter and the Australian 0900 "Police Auctions" scam. However, normal NZ advertising spam has recently started up again and I was wondering if anybody else had noticed the change? Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 271521 | 2004-09-12 04:58:00 | Hi Billy I too recently received a FaxAd from Baron Marketing Ltd (owner = Stephen Baron (www.companies.govt.nz) from Howick) asking me to unsubscribe if I didn't want to receive any fax advertisements. Boy did they cop it over the phone and I reminded them in no uncertain terms that I had sent them a letter 3 years ago informing them I would bill them for my services if they ever sent me a fax again. The meek response was they thought that "I might have forgotten". Me forget? Ha! Give them what for...... Andrew |

Photocopy it twice and glue the 3 sheets together to make a sheet 3 times as long. Like this: __ | | |_| | | |_| | | |_| Stick the extra-long sheet into the fax and start to fax it to the spammers. After the first sheer comes out, tape it to the third sheet to make a never ending fax. Use black paper so as to waste all the toner of the recipient. |

Use M/s fax, send same fax from screen (Make very complex immage) 1,000,000 times, do from home overnight on land line . Sometimes Telecom angry you do this, fax spammer no like, even if he keeps all incomming fax on H/Drive fill up his drive jam his line . He no fax you any more . I use old computer as fax machine, save all incomming fax to disk . no waste paper and toner that way, just delet spam fax . Still take time, but cheaper 200/233 MMX make Excelent fax catcher . very cheap |

No longer works in most cases . The fax spammers do not use fax machines, only computers . The computers dial from their database and do not answer incoming faxes . They have no other purpose in life but to send outgoing faxes . |

Very true, but if the units are set not to answer, quiet common for spammers, continious attemps at ring in will still block their line. Godfather, Do you or anybody know of any way to block incoming fax without headders (A common occourence in fax spam) |
