271385 2004-09-11 22:43:00 OE picks what email up?? Hotmail, or normal email?

Or do you mean OE is adding people in the address book, to MSN's email addies??

271389 2004-09-12 01:45:00 Hmmm .... not sure if this will work, but make sure your address list isn't displayed when OE is open. The default view is:[pre]

271390 2004-09-12 01:59:00 Argh ... hit post instead of preview :(

The default view is:
|------------|---------------------|
| Folder | Email |
| View | List |
|------------|---------------------|
| Address | Preview |
| List | Pane |
|------------|---------------------|
You want it to look more like this:
|------------|---------------------|
| Folder | Email |
| View | List |
| |---------------------|
| | Preview |
| | Pane |
|------------|---------------------|
Having the address list open caused MSN to auto launch - I would imagine it may also cause all the addys to be imported.

This forum so needs some sort of better formatting options. :(

271391 2004-09-12 12:01:00 Easiest way to do this (only way I'm aware of) is to create a registry key as follows:

Open regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Create a new key (Edit --> New --> Dword
Value Name: Hide Messenger
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (2 = remove messenger)

This should sort it out.

As usual, editing the registry can be DANGEROUS. I take no responsibility, yada yada yada, see a doctor if pain persists.
