271747 2004-09-13 00:45:00 We have five computers, three running Windows XP Home and two running Windows XP Pro, on our home network.

One Windows XP Pro computer has a cable modem connection to Paradise.net. It has two network cards and is running Internet Connection Firewall on the cable connection to Paradise.

Two computers, one Windows XP Home machine and one Windows XP Pro machine cannot see other computers on our home network. BUT they are able to access the Internet via the computer which has the Cable connection to Paradise.

These two computers complain that workgroup YYYYYY is not accessable (where YYYYYY is the name of the group all computers at home have been assigned to.)

I did some testing over the weekend.

Initially the IP address on the problem XP Home computer was assigned automatically.
Cable connection to paradise shows up as disabled or does not show up at all (in My Network Connections), but IE, Outlook Express and MSN Messanger work fine. ICF is set to off. Cannot see other computers on the home network.

IP address changed so it is now assigned manually.
192.168.0.6 - mask 255.255.255.0
Reboot computer.
Cable connection to paradise not present, IE, Outlook Express and MSN Messanger do not work. ICF is set to off.

IP address again changed so it is now assigned automatically.
192.168.0.6 - Assigned by DHCP.
Cable connection to paradise appeaes, is marked disabled, but IE, Outlook Express and MSN Messanger work fine. ICF is set to off.

Any suggestions. !!!
