| 271712 | 2004-09-13 13:28:00 | Check the wording, what does "lifetime" mean in this context? Usual expected in service life of such a product? (covered by NZ consumer protection law) your lifetime? (I doubt you'll be using the same product in 5 years) the lifetime of the current incarnation of the entity called Belkin? (could be gone tomorrow but unlikely). Most "lifetime" warrantees/guarantees are marketing droid hot air. Do they have reliable NZ agents (start with a physical address) or will you end out shipping it off shore when it goes phutt in year 5. Will you still get technical support including driver/firmware upgrades in 5 years (let alone 3). I suggest you go through the same exercise for any product you are considering as part of your checklist, $, functionality (possible future needs/scalability), support, known issues or recommendations, warrantee. Belkin has got a fairly good name but if non of us have had experience or heard anything about a particular product then we cam only speculate, which doesn't do you much good :) Cheers Murray P |
