2004-09-13 00:32:00 | good choice. Did you make sure it had 8pipelines and a 256bit memory interface? (Shouldnt be a problem i dont think gexcube make a dodgey 9800) | Pete O'Neil (250) | |
2004-09-13 02:48:00 | yes i followed yours and metla's advice and made sure of the 256 mb and 8 pipeline thing so I am hopeful of a great outcome if i can install thecard... i am a bit worried about the power supply thing being a chicken s**t and all but i am able to learn new things... i think | gstroud (6149) | |
2004-09-13 02:51:00 | What sort of PSU do you have? | Pete O'Neil (250) | |
2004-09-13 02:55:00 | Good choice, I have the same card. The Gecube 9800 pros have the r360 core (9800XT core) and can be flashed with an XT bios. Using 3dMark 03 My stock 9800 pro @ 378/338 scores 5596 The same card with the XT bios @ 378/338 scores 5808 and @ 412/365 scores 6241 ** The XT bios clocks your card at 412/365, so you either need to improve your cooling or underclock your card to stock speeds.

2004-09-13 03:20:00 | Yeah power supply is a big deal. I upgraded from a Ti4600 to a R360 9800PRO - endless problems after chucking her in - data corruption, POSTing issues etc. Even though the power supply I had was a 350w it was a peice of sh*t with the extra load. A branded 420w did the trick.
