| 272410 | 2004-09-14 22:50:00 | I am doing a complete website upgrade for a car dealer (http://www.robertbrucemotors.co.nz/) and he would like to update the car page himself, I realise I could use asp or shtml but wos wondering if anyone has done something simialr with html. He has MS Front Page and has been updating the table on the car page himself with varing results. His preference would be not to spend much more money on the upkeep of his website. He would like a image thumnail to be displayed next to the car and be clickable to inlarge. Has anyone done this with html? Or if someone has experience with MySQL, could you tell me how to set up one simple table, I have read up on this topic but the manual is over 1000 pages long. Please note: I am aware most of the website is crap but this is work in progress. |

Also the cars would be changing from time to time. I am thinking it would be easier for me to do this on a weekly basis, what would be a reasonable amount to charge for this weekly update. I was thinking $10 to update as many cars as he wants. |

If he wants to update it himself just name the pictures n1,n2,n3,and when he wants to update he can name his new pic the same as the car he wants to replace,n1,n2,n3 and upload it overwriting the existing picture. Anyhow,im crap at webpages myself so what do i know.... Here's a page of thumbnails linked to bigger pics i threw togther using frontpage. www.jurgensdemolition.co.nz |

| 272414 | 2004-09-14 23:32:00 | I have another idea. I will put his website into two frames, title frame and a main frame. He can just update the main frame using a program that will write the html code for him. What freeware or very cheep programs are there for creating a thumnail page that links to a large image and will write all the html as well. Photoshop has this option, but I want a free one. |

Eventually they will both come from the center of the page towing his logo behind them, then it will jump to the home page. I am having problems making the background either transparent or black. I can make it black by painting with the paint brush but the fill dosent seem to work. |

That flash thing is horrible, what happened to a nice static JPEG? Perhaps get a picture of the dealer himself and his staff on the front page |
