272217 2004-09-14 03:59:00 I have been using "Norton Ghost" in the past and later "Power Quest 2002" and both are excellent but my latest programme is "Acronis True Image 8".
It cost $50 US to download from www.acronis.com

* Will make Images when still in the OS. Does not have to move to Dos, but does have Dos boots, floppys & CD for emercencys.
* Makes full & incemental Images.
* You can view and edit an Image file as a drive with a letter asigned to it.
* Very user friendly.
* SUPPORTS USB MOUSE & KEYBOARD IN DOS.
* Runs on all Windows from 95C upwards.

I can't say enough about this, best monet I've spent on Software.

some questions if you dont mind,
does it support native burning to cdr(w) if so
is it possible to make these disks bootable (using this program) for a unattended restore
can you split the total image file size to say chunks of 650 meg
does it support ntfs
will it image a complete disk including multiple partions and mixed file systems (ntfs and fat)
I notice on their site they metion Linux server version but what about people who use linux as work station in other words does it reconise ext 2 and 3 file systems
does it support connecting to network shares in dos mode
reason I ask because I keep image files on a network share
I have been to the site but there seem to be no answers for these questions so I thought when I saw your post hey be lazy and dont email Mzee may know
thank you in advance
