| 272137 | 2004-09-14 00:22:00 | pc2 is win2k standalone server, pc1 is xp pro, same workgroup, same ip scope, pc1 can ping to pc2, can browse the website on pc2, so the physical link is ok, try to browse the shared folders in pc2 from pc1, ask for login and passwd, put admin's name and passwd of pc2, still say not enough permission. check the group policy on pc2, in local computer setting\computer confi\windows set\security set\local policy\user right\, didn't setup " deny network access" , every one can access pc2 from network. could any one can help me to find what else I need to set for this connection? thanks in advance. | sean007 (6156) | ||
| 272138 | 2004-09-14 01:54:00 | Right click folder to share, go to the permissions button and add a user name and password. Unlike XP, win2k requires permissions on each shared folder before you can read, write or whatever. Cheers Murray P |

| 272140 | 2004-09-14 02:46:00 | might be a long shot but you could try the winsockxp fix..on the problem pc.. this worked on a pc that couldn't see my network but they all could see it. google winsock fix. small download. but beware, it resets and reinstalls all the network settings so you have to set up ips etc again.. |
