it has nothing to do with pride or "doesn't want to see consumers treat those skills like the work of a labourer"

every trade lists the labour componant of the job just like every other part, customers expect it. the whole job is a "service", labour is just part of that.

personally trying to dress up a tradesperson as something "better" than a tradesperson looks nasty. would you exspect your tradespeople to look like lawyer's??

I think pride in your chosen field or, more how you conduct yourself within it how the industry see's it's position in the scheme of things is an important component of the worth/value it is held in by society.

Is there an association or incorporated society that looks after the interests of computer repair persons and their customers?
