| 272421 | 2004-09-15 00:21:00 | I block flash animations - I never see any.... Why not teach him Tables? Using something like frontpage.. I cringe.... Good idea for some basic websites for n00bs, but I'd prefer to code the whole thing in Notepad. Otherwise, tell him you'll do it yourself - an hours work, say, upto 30 cars (That's 2 mins per car to make a thumnail and re-enter the text into the website), for $40ish. Negotiate :D Chill |

| 272422 | 2004-09-15 00:25:00 | Two thoughts occur to me. Firstly $50 week is cheap for your work if the website brings in real sales. However that also equates to $2500 per year which is a fair lump for any business. Ultimately you are probably better doing it for him but at a charge which you can live with. Don't undersell your skills, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with accepting a small but regular payment. It all adds up. You could do it for say, $20 week for three months and then increase your charge. By then, he will accept the value of your work. Secondly, IMHO most websites are too busy and slow to load. They look great to the owner but that isn't whom they should be designed for. The potential customer is the target. Keep it simple. A photo of the owner would be good - makes it less anonymous and more friendly. |
