272856 2004-09-16 08:17:00 it says my anti virus software is out of date - I have AVG free edition installed and up to date, so what shall I do? starfish (3019)
272857 2004-09-16 08:49:00 There have been several small updates to the free AVG in the last few days
Best update it again anyway just in case.

272858 2004-09-16 09:38:00 & if win xp SP2 still says that AVG is out of date

272859 2004-09-16 09:56:00 I have AVG 6.0 - I have had a look at their website and it looks like there are heaps of updates, not sure which ones I need. starfish (3019)
272860 2004-09-16 10:20:00 Just double click on the AVG icon in your tasktray by the clock, choose the Update Manager tab and Update Now. AVG will then update itself. Susan B (19)
272861 2004-09-16 10:22:00 Just update the whole programme by downloading a fresh copy, get off the net, uninstall the old and install the new, hop on the net and grabe the latest virus database files before you do anything else.

I have a a sneaking suspiciion that XP may still accuse it of being out of date, you'll have peace of mind anyway that your are.

272864 2004-09-16 20:16:00 but isnt that the whole idea of these updates ? starfish (3019)
272865 2004-09-16 20:44:00 Starfish,

Part of the idea is to get you to use products from Windows partners (those who toe the windows line, and say how high when bill says jump)and approved developers.
