272801 2004-09-16 05:05:00 Hi. Umm, a little problem with my CD drives. I have a Aopen 52x24x52 CDRW and a CDROM 40x Aopen drive. I am using a thing called Alcohol 120% for rip some cd's to ISO's but it just won't do it. IT does 1/6mb's of the CD and then starts erroring everywhere. I have also been having problems burning some cd's. What is the problem, the drivers are fine, they reaad cds and install stuff fine, but .... yea. Any ideas? FynBoi (6137)
272802 2004-09-16 05:23:00 Make sure the CDWR is master and is not on the same IDE channel as the other cd drive if you are trying to copy on the fly. Change the read or write speeds to a slower speed and make sure the cd's are clean. try not to run other programs as well while you are copying. Odin (227)
272803 2004-09-16 05:37:00 Not all drives can make iso's of all cd's,and the software won't work unless set up specifficly to get around the copy protection on the cd.

They don't want you to copy it,thats why its not easy.

Presuming of course your attempting to iso copy protected cd's.

272804 2004-09-16 10:26:00 I just realised they arn't copying properly too. I tried to install Sim2 and it was taking about 4 ~ 5 hours FynBoi (6137)
272805 2004-09-16 10:32:00 You have zero chance of breaking the copy protection of sims2. metla (154)
272806 2004-09-16 10:33:00 I mean installing the game, not copying it. FynBoi (6137)
272807 2004-09-16 10:35:00 and it won't install off either drive? metla (154)
272808 2004-09-16 10:38:00 Actually,i think we would be better off if we got Spencer on the job....no....wait....all he's done since he got here is attack others, whinge about a missing cd,and boast about how succesful and well paid he is,all the while standing on his crystel pedestal.

Guess his presence is worthles after all.

272809 2004-09-16 22:23:00 How old are your drives, cos it sounds like perhaps the laser lens is dirty or out of alignment. Odin (227)
