272720 2004-09-15 22:32:00 Is it me or have I got a crook joystick.
I bought a Logitech cordless joystickAbout three months ago. I could never get it to work properly so it has been sitting under my desk ever since. I decided to have another go at it this morning.
I plugged into usb.Light came on. I went to Joystick in control panel and it showed up there. Joystick movements registered.
I inserted the CD and started to install drivers etc. No problem. After the drivers the next step is to configure it etc. PROBLEM. Get the message, "DLL as executable" and the splurge about must shut down and do I want to tell Microsoft.
I tried three installs with same result.
I know from previous experience that if I play a game the stick will work after a fashion but not the buttons and there are no fine ajustments.
How do I get around the dll as executable business???

272722 2004-09-16 00:10:00 Thanks Bruce. Very good advice. Drivers etc. installed flawlessly. It all seems to be working.
I don't have anything on my comp. at the moment to try it on. I'll install Flight Similator 2004 again tomorrow and see how it goes.
Thanks,
Jack
