| 272678 | 2004-09-15 11:48:00 | I have a network set up with the main computer running XP the 2 computers networked to it are running on Win98. The win98 machines access the internet through the XP machine. I find sometimes without the user of the 98 machine instigating it the 98 machine triggers the xp machine to connect to the net. I have tried configering the 98 machine to never dail up to the internet. the second thing i would like to know is how once the person on the 98 machine finishes on the net how can they make the XP machine hang up other than physically going over to the xp machine and doing it there. The outlook express is configured to hang up automatically when it is finished but that does not seem to work. is there a plug in that is available I understand this feature has been added in xp operating system. Thanks for your help Martin |

Or it could in XP's ie options. Is XP's set on never dial a connection? The outlook express disconnect option is just for that computer to disconnect. NOT the XP PC. If you want the XP PC to disconnect, you'll have to tick the same option in Outlook Express, on the XP PC, after you check email, on the XP computer. I cant say I've heard of a plugin for XP, that does this. Unless its for Outlook, which isnt Outlook Express. |
