| 272685 | 2004-09-15 11:33:00 | Hi All, My monitor has suddenly gone blurry / fuzzy top and bottom of the screen...text & pics along the centre of the screen are fine....Is my old CRT on it's last legs!!?? I've tried degauzzing? Haven't move any speakers or anything else near the monitor recently!!? Cheers in advance.. Darcy |

| 272687 | 2004-09-15 21:44:00 | Possibly its dying but really we cannot tell without seeing it. And not knowing anything about it (age/condition etc) makes it even harder. Also no history of what/when makes for much speculation. Unfortunately "clairvoyance mode" is disabled at this end... |

| 272688 | 2004-09-15 22:15:00 | Hi Darcy Go to This site (http://www.oh-bugger.net.nz/) and use the test patterns to assess the condition of your monitor. To find out how to assess, do a search for FAQ #4, user name Billy T and that will tell you how to check if it is focus, and how to adjust it (if you are game to try). Cutting to the chase, if the crosshatch pattern shows fuzzy white lines at the outer perimeter and reasonably sharp in the middle then you have a focus fault. If it is only fuzzy at the top and bottom of the screen, then do the checks and tell us more if you can because that may be something else again. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
